Hoop Gallery is an exciting new not for profit art gallery located run by a voluntary committee in Torquay as part of The MAC (Multi Arts Centre). The old sport and recreation building located next to the Australian Surf Museum and Information Centre, was handed over to the community after years of lobbying to find a permanent home for a local gallery and Torquay Theatre Troupe (TTT). With infrastructure funding from the Victoria Government and Surf Coast Shire, part of the previous basketball court has been transformed to offer a large space with mobile walls for artists to exhibit and sell work to local and visiting audiences. Hoop Gallery aims to provide a hub for artists to professionally network, offer public art programs and community art activities, engage with the regional community and seek creative outcomes, and help share a diverse range of stories and new ideas.

Something you often hear from visitors to Eagles Nest Gallery, is how much they love seeing so much artwork in one place, especially by locals and our surrounds - how there’s always something new to see, whether through 4 new exhibitions every month, or the moving feast of art displayed in the spaces in between. Eagles Nest Gallery is in Aireys Inlet on the Surf Coast’s Great Ocean Road. Housed in a stunning purpose-built building, they exhibit an ongoing display of local and regional artist’s artwork, plus bi-monthly exhibitions. They are proud to exhibit artwork in many mediums including painting, drawing, glass art, sculpture, jewellery, textiles, wood, prints and cards. Artists who exhibit remain represented on the website, allowing people to view at any time and send purchase requests.

This family passion project is part gallery, part fine art supplies shop for adults and children, part old and new vinyl records shop. It also has a welcoming outdoor area to accommodate live music and casual gatherings for those special occasions such as NAIDOC week. What more could you want? (Well there is amazing pizza next door, so that solves the food dilemma!) Anna and Simon opened In the Skies in October 2020 with a passion for building community through the arts and sharing a deep respect for Indigenous Sovereignty. In a short time, with Covid thrown into the mix, they have nurtured a creative chub where monthly exhibitions feature dynamic local artists, many of whom we don’t tend to see in other spaces throughout our region – and accompanying catalogues and funky design continually pique our curiosity.

Qdos Fine Arts is the brainchild of artist Graeme Wilkie - a project that has grown to include a gallery, sculpture garden, cafe, performance space, art and ceramic studios and luxurious Japanese inspired treehouse accommodation – all nestled in a stunning forest setting with towering Eucalyptus. The carefully curated art space represents a collection of fine artists who launch a new body of work biennially. Ten solo exhibitions are held annually and the artists offer a small, exclusive range of work available for stockroom viewing. Qdos was established in 1989 as Lorne's first contemporary art gallery on Mountjoy Pde. Graeme relocated almost a decade later to the current location off Allenvale Road, a purpose built site behind the back streets of Lorne.
