Current Surf Coast ARTS inc members are invited to attend the 2023 Surf Coast ARTS Inc AGM on Wednesday 29 November at 7pm - doors open at 6.30pm. We'll have time to get to know each other before the official proceedings (that are quite short), then stay with us to enjoy some nibblies and a bubbles.

If you are not a member and would like to get involved, sign up here for a small annual fee of $10.
You are also welcome to renew your membership at the AGM.

The agenda and the 2022 AGM minutes will be provided at the meeting.

We request that you are mindful and stay home if unwell.

We are calling for passionate new committee members to join our team - simply complete the form at the bottom of this page to submit your nomination. In particular, we are seeking a Secretary, Treasurer Support, people to help with Torquay Cowrie Market and content creators (eg, professional development, social media, articles, website), but if you would just like to become an Ordinary Member (far from being ordinary though!) you will be warmly welcomed. Surf Coast ARTS Inc. was established in 1995 to support the arts within our vibrant and creative community of visual artists, performers, makers, writers, musicians, filmmakers and cultural leaders. We are a unique local group of volunteers, independent of government, with a funding stream set up to support arts makers and organisers in our region.

Volunteering for a group like Surf Coast ARTS inc is a brilliant way to nurture the arts in our community, learn more about what's happening in regional arts, and to grow and showcase your skills in areas such as social media, storytelling, writing, website content, networking, advocacy and professional development. Employers look favourably at volunteer commitments, and of course the warm and fuzzies are always guaranteed!

The Surf Coast region has always been vibrant and it continues to attract more creatives. Our core event is the Torquay Cowrie Market and we have started to develop this website as an online resource hub for our artists, locals and visitors. 

We are encouraging passionate individuals to help guide Surf Coast ARTS Inc into a new era by becoming a committee member. If you haven't been on a committee before, but would love to get involved by becoming an Ordinary Member (certainly far from being ordinary though!), Minutes Secretary (recording actions at our meetings), Art News support, be part of the Torquay Cowrie Market team, or you just want to learn more about what happens behind the scenes, you will be warmly welcomed.

What is The Light Box Torquay?

The Light Box Torquay is a passion project by Surf Coast ARTS inc Committee Member Martine Oderio. Located in the vibrant industrial estate opposite the Shell servo in Torquay, the shared makers space has been developed to build and support the creative community. The Light Box houses a collection of personal studio pods and common art-making areas. A workshop classroom is located at the front of the space for hosting mixed arts classes and special events. The dedicated ceramics section at the back has shared work table space, throwing wheels, a slab roller, and more.
